The final version.
I regret my choice of paper on this one, stuff started breaking down as soon as I tried to give it a wash. And it faded some of the linework. I'm going back to board. Anyhow, this one is a bit more modified in photoshop than I like. At the suggestion of  , I overlaid the original ink drawing over the painting to give it more oomph. I liked the result, so that's the version you see here. This wasn't how I originally intended this pic to look, but the failure of the surface led me to end up making it a bit warmer and greener/browner than I wanted. Oh well. |

As for the lighting, evenings have always been my favorite time of day because everything takes on this strange quality that makes even the most mundane scene seem rich and mysterious.
