Description
The Fire Dragon, In Glorious Color!
Watercolor on Board.
Lessons learned:
1. Don't use cheap board for watercolor painting.
2. Primary colors are way harder to keep clean than earth tones.
What I was going for was not a traditional dragon but a force of nature, an elemental creature bearing atomic fire. It's fashionable to make dragons good, or intelligent or wise, but I hate fashion.
I wanted this to look iconic, so I avoided putting in a background, so as not to distract from the dragon itself.
Enjoy.
Edit: Not really happy with this piece quite yet. Gonna go over it one last time and repost it, probably Friday.

When I saw this I did not think dragon at all. I'm faving this because it really looks like an invertebrate. I love it.
